I was inspired by a class that I took on risograph printing and self-publishing to create a zine reflecting on the evolving value of printed publications in a digital age. Despite the prevalence of seamless digital publishing processes, the continuous popularity of so-called outdated, analog print processes points to a shift in the use-value of a print-object. This zine questions how the act of material publishing becomes a political act; it explores the radical potentials that DIY publishing holds through a first-person perspective narrating the process of creating, designing, and distributing a zine from scratch.
